Prove it and attend Traffic Skills 101<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nBike Friendly Oak Cliff<br \/>\nEducation is a key component in helping build a bike friendly community, however it usually gets put aside because it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s too expensive, too timely or not cool!<\/p>\n<p>We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d like to help change those notions by working with Bike DFW and certified League of American Bicyclists to encourage more riders to learn the basics of riding in traffic. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.timesrecordnews.com\/news\/2013\/apr\/15\/biker-seriously-hurt-trail\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.timesrecordnews.com\/news\/2013\/apr\/15\/biker-seriously-hurt-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Cyclist injured on trail dies<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nTIMES RECORD NEWS<br \/>\nWICHITA FALLS \u00e2\u20ac\u201d A bicyclist has died from injuries suffered in an accident on the biking trail near Lake Wichita Monday morning.<br \/>\nPolice said the victim was a 72-year-old man, but did not release his name.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses said it appeared the male cyclist was thrown from his bike and struck a retaining wall.<br \/>\nThe man was unconscious at the scene and suffered obvious head injuries. Now officials want to revisit that plan as part of a comprehensive mobility study.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Walsh is Sugar Land&#8217;s Director of Transportation and Long-Range Planning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We needed to look at walking and biking as a mode of transportation not just for recreational purposes but for non-recreational purposes as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sugar Land is doing the study as the city is expected to grow by thousands of new residents. Participants in Texas 4000, a UT student organization, complete an annual bike ride from Austin to Anchorage to raise funds for cancer research.
