\nThe other day, I was embarking on one of my favorite activities: riding around town with my family. With my four-year-old attached to my bike on one of those newfangled trail-a-bikes, I took him straight over a small section of bumpy rocks. I assumed he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d ridden on rocks before. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d assumed he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d enjoy bouncing up and down. I assumed he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d think riding rocks was cool.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mommy, that was NOT cool,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I was quickly informed.<\/p>\n

Here I was, in the middle of a bike ride with my son, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d just broken one of the major tenants of cycling: I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t ride predictably. And though this lesson was reinforced with a few tears (his) and pangs of guilt…<\/p>\n

Bicyclists: College Station becoming more bike-friendly<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

\nThe College Station City Council proclaimed May as National Bike Month with a presentation to the Bicycle, Pedestrian and Greenways Advisory Board on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The city holds the distinction of ranking No. 1 in Texas for the highest percentage of people who bike to work, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.<\/p>\n

Mountain Bike Trail Grand Opening<\/strong><\/span><\/a>
\nLongview Cycling Club
\nThere will be a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Grand Opening\/Ribbon Cutting\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for the new mountain bike trail on Saturday June 1st at 10 AM. A road ride is also scheduled to start from Maude Cobb at 8 am.
