Reaching for the door knob at the end of the ride I heard the rumble of thunder in the distance. During my stop at the Huffman Chevron I checked the weather on my phone at 12:44 and it said thunderstorms would reach Huffman by 1:15 giving me about 30 minutes head start to get home. Scanning the sky I saw dark clouds on the horizon to the south and east but I reminded myself that looking at an angle can make them look darker than they really are. Anticipating the ride tomorrow to the north for about 63 miles I did not want to ride too far or too hard today. I rode to Atascocita and Walden before going across Lake Houston to loop around Huffman. This route totaled 32.59 miles<\/strong> at a 15.6 mph average speed. The temperature hung at 86 to 88 due to the clouds and the wind stayed calm.<\/p>\n I am still riding with the two missing chrainring bolts waiting for the replacement one to arrive. So far I don’t notice and problem doing this but I suspect the chainrings flex some when the chain is not centered on the cassette.<\/p>\n Mileage points: this week 137.91<\/strong>, July 532.43<\/strong>, year to date 3858<\/strong>.
