Greer doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let his amputated right arm slow him down.<br \/>\nThe retired Army Special Forces officer, who in 2006 lost his dominant arm from the elbow down to an explosive projectile while working contracted security for the U.S. State Department in Iraq, spends nearly every day either on a specially designed mountain bike or in a pool.<br \/>\nIn recent months he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s competed in the Coastal Empire Cycle Fest Criterium on Tybee Island, participated in the four-day&#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.bikeleague.org\/womenbike\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bikeleague.org\/womenbike\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Women Bike<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nwww.bikeleague.org<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.bikeleague.org\/sites\/lab.huang.radicaldesigns.org\/files\/WB-header-1.jpg?resize=640%2C270\" width=\"640\" height=\"270\" \/><br \/>\nIn 2009, women accounted for just 24 percent of bicycle trips in the U.S. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time for that to change. More than 80 percent of American women have a positive view of bicyclists and two-thirds think their community would be a better place to live if riding a bike were safer and more comfortable (Princeton Survey Research Associates national poll, September 2012).
