Dallas council members bike to City Hall to promote cycling<\/strong><\/span><\/a>

\nStaff writer Caroline Basile reports: Just before 8 a.m. on a brisk Wednesday morning city officials swapped suits for bike shorts in the fourth annual \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Bike to City Hall Day.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

Biking advocates and Dallas City Council members rode together Wednesday morning to promote cycling and bike safety in the city. The trek started at the Main Street Garden Park and ended at City Hall Plaza.<\/p>\n

The event was organized by local cycling group Bike Friendly Oak Cliff. The group\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s president, Zac Lytle, said Dallas has a long way to go in terms of complete support for biking, but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s headed in the right direction.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We have greatly improved as a city for bicyclists,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Lytle said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153And it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s great to see a growing support for bicyclists in city government.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
