I joined two other tourists reading the information panels describing the scene before us.<\/p>\n<p>The view was stunning. Mesquite, creosote, yucca and prickly pear made up much of the dense vegetation leading up to the steep vertical cliffs a quarter mile away. Apparently, the rocky precipices were home to peregrine falcons during the nesting season, although, on this early November afternoon, the raptors were long gone.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d been on my bicycle for some five hours already and my legs and lower back were protesting.
