\nA makeshift memorial where Houston bicyclist Chelsea Norman, 24, was struck by a hit-and-run driver, Norman died from injuries suffered in a weekend hit-and-run accident and was pronounced dead Wednesday at Memorial Hermann Hospital Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, in Houston. The accident happened about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 1600 block of Waugh Drive.<\/p>\n

As Houston police investigate a hit-and-run accident that claimed a bicyclist’s life, an impromptu memorial to the young woman has appeared in Montrose where a driver left her mortally injured in the street.
\nChelsea Norman, 24, left her job at Whole Foods Market, 705 Waugh Drive, at 10:17 p.m. Dec. 1 and a couple minutes later was struck by an unknown vehicle in the 1600 block of Waugh Drive.
\nAn ambulance took her to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Dec. 4, authorities said.
\nIn memory of Norman, store employees are planning a walk and ride on Dec. 8 from Whole Foods to her nearby apartment on Jackson Street, which they’re calling “complete Chelsea’s ride,” said store team leader Elizabeth Brown.
