After months of recovery, he got back on his commuter bike.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I went one block, and it took 10 minutes,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Ludwick, a San Antonio resident. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153At the same time, I said, &#8216;I can do this. He admitted full responsibility. I broke my helmet, sustained a few injuries, and my bicycle is totaled. I&#8217;m in good spirits.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m mainly writing this post for two reasons:<\/p>\n<p>1) To ask you all to please continue to stay as safe as possible out there. You never know what will happen, no matter how safe you are. Accidents happen.<\/p>\n<p>2) To thank you all. A gentleman driving an SUV who I&#8217;ll likely never meet again saw my accident and stopped to help me while I was lying on the ground. Luckily for me, I do have the holidays and a significant life-event all rolled into the last 30 days to give me a reason to reflect and material to write about.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago, we finalized what has seemed like a never ending process of agreeing to move to Seattle \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the actual move will happen in April, but all paperwork is signed. The headquarters for the company I work for is based there, and I hear the riding is pretty good (I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to sound too enthusiastic about it in case my boss or wife read this and think this is the only reason I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m so excited to move).<\/p>\n<p>Although we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been thinking about moving for a long time, it never got to more than talking about it for a few minutes and continuing with our lives in McKinney. So, I never really thought about not being in DFW and all that I would miss about it.
