Roads are dry and debris-free. The weather is conducive to hammering out miles at speed. The excitement of closely contested races gets everyone amped about results, personal bests, podiums, and the associated race-scene camaraderie.<br \/>\nUnfortunately, the start to 2014 threw a chilly wrench in that whole scenario. With snow and ice on roads from Austin to Dallas, preseason training was relegated to the gym and team spins indoors.<br \/>\nBut we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve made it. The first big road-race weekend of 2014 has arrived as Walburg\/Pace Bend is scheduled for the weekend of February 22-23.
