Our team had already tackled the Excruciation Exam at Bluff Creek Ranch last month, an 80 mile jaunt combining the trails and roads at Warda and Smithville, and I wanted to try to beat my time from last year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 12 hour event.<br \/>\n  Getting ready is half the battle. Sometimes I spend so much time worrying, planning, and packing that my prep time far exceeds the actual racing time. This was the case, as I was not ready to leave when Michelle arrived at my house the night before the race. We combined all our race paraphernalia and headed south to Warda, TX.
