That&#8217;s over double the national average for big cities.<br \/>\n  &#8220;So typically we&#8217;re seeing these high numbers in cities that have very wide and high-speed roads, so it makes it very difficult for a pedestrian, especially a pedestrian who might be moving slower because they&#8217;re elderly, they&#8217;re young.&#8221;<br \/>\n  Following a rash of bike fatalities in recent months, Houston is taking the first steps toward developing a bike master plan. Mayor Annise Parker has&#8230;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/bikenoob.com\/2014\/04\/20\/strava-speed-vs-bike-computer-speed\/\">Strava Speed vs. Bike Computer Speed<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Bike Noob<\/h4>\n<blockquote><p>\n  I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m now able to irritate a lot of my friends because I use Strava. The record-keeping is useful, and the segments \u00e2\u20ac\u201d while they do prompt one to speed up when one might not want to \u00e2\u20ac\u201d provide a nice progress report on one\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ability over certain parts of rides. But there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s one thing I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve noticed: My speeds according to Strava are different from the speeds registered by my bike computer.<br \/>\n  screen<br \/>\n  Now, I know I have el cheapo computer. However, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been pretty satisfied with it. I measured the circumference of the front wheel by hand, and found that I need to enter 19 more millimeters than the 2096 commonly used for 23mm tires. Nelson Cantu was charged with failure to report a felonly.<br \/>\n  According to court documents, the two men admitted they were in the vehicle that fatally hit cyclist Eduardo Arguelles early Thursday morning.<br \/>\n  CHANNEL 5 NEWS got a copy of court records that state the two men were headed home after a night of drinking. Investigators said Gomez&#8217;s truck hit Arguelles so hard that his body hit the windshield and flew back into the bed of the truck. Court documents state a driver behind Gomez witnessed the accident. That driver notified Arguelles&#8217; companion, who was riding further ahead, what happened.
