Lance Armstrong won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t participate in a time-trial cycling race this weekend, two weeks after he was prohibited from participating in a South Carolina charity ride.
\nArmstrong, who has been banned for life from cycling for doping violations, will skip the Texas race because his time trial partner is injured, Mark Higgins, a spokesman for Armstrong, said in an e-mail.
\nArmstrong is on the start list for the Tour de Gruene Bicycle Classic, a 31-year-old charity event in New Braunfels, Texas. The 24.6-mile (40 kilometer) time trial for teams of two riders is scheduled for Nov. 9.
