The weather changed today after 3.00″ of rain yesterday. The trails were covered in water in some places which slowed me down riding through them At the 5 mile point my average speed was only 8 mph. The mostly cloudy sky let the sun shine through some times especially towards the end of the ride. By the end of the ride I increased my average speed up to 10.4 mph. It wasn’t easy pedaling the 32# Motobecane 700HT MTB. The wind was only 4 mph but whenever I rode into it I slowed a couple of mph.<\/p>\n

My legs need more workouts to get ready for my Stradalli road bike.<\/p>\n

I checked my January miles for the last 3 years to set the goal for this month. 2013 was 308 miles, 2014 was 328 miles and 2015 was a lowly 141 miles. If I set the goal as an average it will be 259 miles. Today being January 7th I am at 33.63 miles so far. Weather will be the deciding factor.<\/p>\n

It was 69 degrees when I left home at 2:38 and 68 when I finished at 4:25. I am starting to see the sun staying up a little longer.<\/p>\n
