The Northeast Texas Bicycle Association held a giveaway Saturday in Madill. The organization gave away a few dozen bicycles in the hopes that local families who can&#8217;t afford Christmas gifts this year will have something to put under the tree. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/dfwptp.blogspot.com\" href=\"http:\/\/dfwptp.blogspot.com\/2009\/12\/elegance-counts-too.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DFW Point-to-Point: Elegance Counts Too<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby Steve A<br \/>\nI first started riding to work in Texas back in 2004 (I moved here in 2003), using my road bike. It was a 19 mile commute to Dallas and I only did it a couple times of week, and only during the longest days of the year. &#8230; My favorite chapter is &#8220;So You Want to Buy a Bicycle!&#8221; It&#8217;s a window into a different time, when bicycles were more primitive, but more elegant at the same time. It predates mountain bikes.
