(July 14, 2016) \u00d6\u00a0The 2016 Volkswagen USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships continued on Mammoth Mountain Thursday with 23 national championship cross country races, as well as dual slalom qualifying and the category 2\/3 downhill contests.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; It was hot and dry when the second cross-country wave went off at noon. Nine national titles were won, including the one earned by Fred Schmid (Waco, Texas\/Bear Mountain Wolfpack).
