Day 30: Silsbee to a little east of Lake Charles: Into Louisiana (whose state animal I believe is the aggressive dog)

\nLatish start after staying up watching the election coverage a bit long. On road by 9.30 and kicking into a headwind most of the morning. Crossed the border at Deweyville and almost immediately encountered the first roving band of dogs for the day. This was the first one that I was quite worried about and thought for a bit he was going to have a go at me. There were 4 dogs already in the road and I thought I should be able to scoot round them. As usual the smallest one freaked out first which set of the rest of them. The biggest, some kind of lab\/pitbull cross was on my heels for a good quarter mile ignoring the water squirts I was hitting him with which normally stops them.
