The skies were ominous, dark, and cloudy. The weather system that brought us rain the last three days had not dissipated overnight. Darn! Off the bicycle I visited with the local craftsmen who deal with the junipers, and mesquite in the crafts trade, while on the bike I rode over some of the steepest inclines here in the Texas Hill country.<br \/>\nThe day started with the alarm going off at 6 am, followed by a rolling start at 7:30 am. The weather today was cloudy and cool. I don&#8217;t recall it ever getting above 68 degrees. During the early morning there was a light mist as I started in on the hills outside of Campr Wood. We had to climb 750 feet in only a matter of about 2 miles. The early morning climb had 8% grades and switch backs.
