After yesterday’s rain shortened bike ride today’s weather was much more biking friendly. Partly cloudy skies, temperature range of 86 to 91 with the wind from the east at 7 mph. The route I chose was “New Caney – Roman Forest Loop – Valley Ranch” for a total of 40.4 miles<\/strong>. June mileage is up to 735<\/strong> with just 65<\/strong> miles left to hit the June goal of 800 miles<\/strong>. The miles on the bike ride was a few more than usual because I added a couple of extra streets at the beginning in Elm Grove Village and Woodridge Forest.<\/p>\n

I had to get used to the new brake pads when applying the brakes. The new pads grip the rims quicker and with more stickiness producing a squeal every once in awhile. BY the end of the ride I was getting the hang of how much pressure to apply. With the new pads I adjusted the distance between the brake pad and the rim which probably plays a part in the new feel to braking.<\/p>\n

A couple of “casual” bikers crossed my path but no serious cyclists.<\/p>\n

Weather for Tuesday looks biking friendly so I will continue my quest to the June goal.<\/p>\n
