Hale on Wheels organizers were still compiling late entries as the event began, but anticipated this year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s race would be the largest one ever. Course lengths were 63, 45, 30 and 23 miles with cruiser rides of 3.1 and 1.0 miles. Kris Maurice said the victim was riding his bike when he bumped into a man walking down the sidewalk, resulting in a verbal altercation.
