I waited until 1:07 pm to start the bike ride hoping the temperature would go higher but all it mustered was 64 degrees. The clear blue sky was inviting but the chilly wind not so much. The route with the later start was ” Atascocita – Walden” for a total of 24.84 miles<\/strong>. March moved to a total of 227.1 miles<\/strong> against my 585<\/strong> mile goal leaving 358 miles<\/strong> to go.<\/p>\n

The weather: start 64 (31% humidity), finish 67 (31% humidity), few clouds, wind 6 mph gusts 16 mph. To offset the wind chill I wore shorts, leg warmers, thermal long sleeve jersey, short sleeve jersey, and full finger gloves. Biking with the wind I didn’t notice the wind chill so much but when it turned into a headwind I was glad I bundled up. I am a cold weather wimp.<\/p>\n

Around 2.3 miles I stopped in Hunters Ridge Village in Kingwood and took these photos.<\/p>\n

The azaleas are almost at peak bloom now and many homes have them. The predominate color is this one.<\/p>\n

As I write this I received a notice from USPS that the out front mount was delivered to our mailbox. I will install it shortly and remove the ugly temporary contraption on the handlebars. The replacement Elemnt mounting disc should arrive tomorrow to complete the setup. The PowerPod can now be attached.<\/p>\n

Returning to Kingwood I passed four Mormon young men missionaries riding their mountain bikes at Town Center Park. We waved at each other as we passed. From there it was not too far to finish the bike ride at 2:59 pm.<\/p>\n

No bike ride on Thursday snapping my 10 day biking streak. The weather will be slightly cooler before warming up some on Friday.<\/p>\n
