On Sunday, February 28th, we will hold the criterium portion of our race at Centennial Elementary School (1301 N Utica, just north of the loop and west of Quaker). A criterium is a short lap race (1 mile long) that is very fast and very spectator friendly. It is held over time and not distance, so the first person across the line after 30 minutes (or 60, depending on skill level) is the winner. This is a free event and the public is encouraged to attend and cheer on the competitors.

Day 21: Marfa, Texas, to Marathon, Texas « Just Another Bike Ride …
by brendanpleonard
Our trip was pretty well saved by a guy named John Elsbury, who decided to open a bike shop in Alpine, Texas, a few years back, and is still the only bike shop between here and El Paso.
