After several days of bad biking weather today dawned with lots of sun and warmth. Setting out at 11:26 am on the “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” route I biked 35.2 miles<\/strong>. The fragrance of wax leaf ligustrums filled my nostrils along the ride sometimes as well as other plants. I think there was honey suckle out there too.<\/p>\n

The weather during the bike ride: start 73 (52% humidity), clear, wind N 14 mph. Finish 76 (44% humidity), clear, wind N 13 mph, gusts 18 mph. I don’t think of April as a windy month but so far each ride in April has been fighting the wind for lengthy sections. Today the hardest part was biking east over Lake Houston on FM 1960. I pedaled hard and the Elemnt showed watts in the 450+ range for extended times. My legs were grateful for the right turn onto Fairlake Drive moving the wind to my back and the road among all of the trees.<\/p>\n

Earlier when I stopped for the traffic light at Atascocita Shores Drive and FM 1960 another cyclist exited FM 1960 riding north on Atascocita Shores but they didn’t look my way. Later as I rode west on FM 1960 just before coming to Lake Houston a cyclist was riding east in a florescent green shirt. He saw me and we waved.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow the weather should be a few degrees warmer and maybe not quite so windy. I plan on biking.<\/p>\n
