It sprawls and sprawls and sprawls, and the sprawl is not always connected with bike lanes or even roads with a clearly marked shoulder. It does have people that care about cycling, and try to create, grow, and maintain infrastructure for cyclists, but it&#8217;s a work in progress. I learned a bit about the work in progress on Sunday when I rode through Houston&#8217;s Energy Corridor. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/cycling-kwilkinson.blogspot.com\" href=\"http:\/\/cycling-kwilkinson.blogspot.com\/2010\/03\/two-friggin-long-days.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Texas\u00c2\u00a0 Hell Week and Other Assorted Death Rides: Two friggin&#8217; long days<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby Keith<br \/>\nLess than two days before we leave for Texas Hell Week and needless to say I am like a 6 year old going to Disneyland. The bike is ready with a new chain, new tires and GPS. The bad part is that is it is still powered by the fat old guy &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/jorgemerleracingnotes.blogspot.com\" href=\"http:\/\/jorgemerleracingnotes.blogspot.com\/2010\/03\/good-start-for-2010-season.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GOOD START FOR THE 2010 SEASON!!<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby JORGE MERLE<br \/>\nEnded the 2009 season raining and started the 2010 season raining. after a 60 mile ride yesterday i got up this morning a little sore and tired, still have some soreness in my back from couple weeks ago when i hurt my back at work , stretch some and waited for jimmy at my house , about 8:30 am we load the bike in the car and headed to denton for the bicycle plus crit . yeah on the way there , guess what ,raining all the way there . we got there , pin the numbers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/kipmcc.wordpress.com\" href=\"http:\/\/kipmcc.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/08\/rise-across-texas-challenge-day-3\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rise Across Texas Challenge Day 3 \u00c2\u00ab ReOverThinking<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby kipmcc<br \/>\nOver all, the 85 mile ride felt pretty much like yesterday&#8217;s 59 mile ride\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6although I don&#8217;t know how many more miles I could have gone after that 85th mile. I got to ride my unencumbered bike all around Austin with my pal Russell. I replaced a bunch of parts that needed fixing after 1500 miles. Roosevelt is 19.5 miles from Junction. For a first ever week-end ride, I was very pleased with the turnout. We had a nice lunch at the mercantile store in Roosevelt before heading back. But I had to do something biking-related, so I got out today and did a little bike maintenance.
