Shorter bike ride than normal for today. I started later after church leaving at 12:15 pm biking the “Oakhurst – Valley Ranch” route for 25.9 miles<\/strong> to close out the week. Due to missing a couple of days the week totaled 149.84 miles<\/strong> and the month to date stands at 666.21 miles<\/strong> leaving 134 miles to reach my 800 mile goal.<\/p>\n

Weather during the bike ride: start 91 (59% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind S 9 mph, gusts 17 mph. Finish 92 (63% humidity), partly cloudy, wind S 15 mph, gusts 22 mph.<\/p>\n

The wind wasn’t very friendly whenever I rode south. The hardest section was from Valley Ranch Texaco to the Northpark Drive u-turn with the strong headwind. The gusts would slow me down to 11 to 12 mph and then I would rebound to 14 mph or 15 mph. I just put my head down and kept pedaling slowly moving the distance number 1\/10th of a mile at a time.<\/p>\n

PowerPod still will not connect to the Elemnt computer even though the Elemnt shows a connection. Not sure what the problem is and if it can be fixed. To lessen my attention to this problem I adjusted the Elemnt’s screen to not show power readings.<\/p>\n

I finished the bike ride at 2:16 pm with plenty of perspiration. Weather forecast for Monday looks favorable for biking, I will be there.<\/p>\n
