I almost started biking before 8 am but I missed it and wheels rolled at 8:07 am. I wanted to start early to beat the potential rain (which looks like a non-event now) and see other cyclists along the “Kingwood to Ramsey Road – Huffman” route. Also I wanted to bike far enough to push the week’s total miles over 200. I biked 35.76 miles<\/strong> putting the week’s total at 223.88 miles<\/strong>, the highest week since 6\/25\/2018. I saw over 40 cyclists along the route starting in Kingwood but the majority of them were on FM 1960, Fairlake Drive and Old Atascocita Road.<\/p>\n

With the early start the weather was not hot yet but the humidity was high at 93% resulting in sweat flowing. It went down by the end of the bike ride. Weather during the bike ride: start 75 (93% humidity), a few clouds, wind NE 7 mph. Finish 87 (72% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind SE 9 mph. Wind shouldn’t have been too bad at 9 mph but I had to put out 200 to 300 watts to keep my speed above 16 mph all the way to the Ramsey Road turn around.<\/p>\n
