Great weather to start the week off and for biking. I started the bike ride at 10:33 am with the plan to ride at least 41 miles. To do that I chose the “New Caney – Roman Forest – Valley Ranch” route and actually biked 42.14 miles<\/strong> by adding a couple of extra side streets to the route. This improved September to 401.41 miles<\/strong>, 57% of my 700 mile goal. Not biking on Sunday put me behind a few miles to reach my goal but the miles today changed that.<\/p>\n

About mile 4 another cyclist appeared on Woodland Hills Drive wearing a Garmin jersey going the opposite direction. I waved and said hi. Unusual to see other bikers during the week and especially on this route.<\/p>\n

Weather during the bike ride: start 85 (70% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind W 5 mph. Finish 92 (63% humidity), mostly cloudy, wind 7 mph. September Equinox 2018 will be at 8:54 PM CDT on Saturday, September 22. The heat is not as intense but sweat still flows from my body.<\/p>\n

Only one stop during the ride at the Shell station on Roman Forest Blvd. water and ice which lasted to the finish at 1:42 pm. With the heat not as high water and ice go farther.<\/p>\n

More good weather for Tuesday and biking is planned.<\/p>\n
