During the night fall weather dropped in on us. This morning 62 degrees awaited me when I got to the kitchen to eat breakfast. While the sky showed blue it took several hours to warm up to 73 when I left on today’s bike ride at 11:27 am. Choosing the “Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman” route meant battling the north wind almost all the way to Huffman. I biked 35.57 miles<\/strong> boosting October to 360.32 miles<\/strong>, 51% of the way to my 700 mile goal for the month. I forgot to mention when I reached my year goal of 6,800 miles several rides ago. I am at 6,925 miles<\/strong> for the year.<\/p>\n

Weather during the bike ride: Start 73 (57% humidity), a few clouds, wind N 13 mph. Finish 79 (51% humidity), a few clouds, wind NE 8 mph. I appreciate the low humidity which emphasizes the coolness when riding. To combat that I wore a long sleeve jersey under a red Ohio State short sleeve jersey.<\/p>\n

I was going to stop at the Huffman Chevron to refill my water bottle but several men wrestled with a large cabinet at the front door so I continued biking and didn’t stop for more water after that until I finished the bike ride at home at 2:10 pm.<\/p>\n

Friday morning might be a couple of degrees cooler but riding will probably take place. Saturday slightly warmer morning temperatures show in the forecast and I still plan on doing the Hero’s Ride in Conroe.<\/p>\n
