A one-mile extension of the beloved hike and bike path is opening at Waterside, a bustling dining and shopping complex. But thanks to the persistence of my friend I was convinced to get on my bike while it was still raining and the morning was almost done. By that time, neither of us had any notion that we would complete 120 or more miles; we just wanted to ride. But we kept at it and ended up back at the bike shop in time for the Tuesday night ride and decided we could stretch it out for a few extra laps to get the mileage I needed. I rolled in the driveway just before 9:00 PM and Dylan finished slightly later with over 132 miles. It was a memorable day on the bike. And after a separate mishap in another town, she was nervous about the group ride scheduled for her in San Antonio.
