Two weeks, almost to the hour. The celebration was muted as it was 48 degrees and raining lightly. We crossed this massive state at its widest point in 14 days, including a layover day in Austin. Seems hard to believe.<br \/>\nThe populations of different areas of the country fascinate me as they tell stories of migration patters that go way back. Texas is so big it has different things going on in different regions. A few observations about the Lone Star State<\/p>\n<p>West Texas<br \/>\nPeople: Friendly,somewhat reserved. Lots of poverty.
