Eagle Scout training to ride 4,000 miles for cancer research<\/a><\/h2>\n

\nAaron Light has backpacked at Philmont Scout Ranch, and he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s run a marathon, but his next endeavor will dwarf the mileage he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s previously trekked. The Eagle Scout and University of Texas sophomore will cycle from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve had the experience of pushing myself mentally and physically, and this will challenge both,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Light says.<\/p>\n

Workshop on Tuesday for Bicycle Master Plan<\/a><\/h2>\n

The city of Georgetown will host a public workshop for its Bicycle Master Plan from 2:30 to 4:30 Tuesday at the Georgetown Public Library, 402 W. Eighth St.<\/p>\n

The city is working with graduate students from the University of Texas to conduct community outreach to inform bicycle planning efforts in Georgetown. Based on input from a workshop in October, the project team has designed a proposed bicycle network including varying levels of bicycle facilities and has developed an implementation plan.<\/p>\n

The event will give residents a chance to provide feedback on the plan.<\/p>\n
