Day 20 Marathon to Sanderson, Texas: Zues Blew On Us Big Time\nSaturday March 16, 2019, 56 miles (90 km) – Total so far: 1,221 miles (1,965 km)\nDistance – 56. Climbing Descending. – But we never got to appreciate a descent<\/p>\n

Song of the Day – Shout out to Claudia – Nathaniel’s got this right….SOB after this wind day.<\/p>\n

The terrain had promise for a great ride, we even started out with no wind…lasted 10 miles, then headwinds, headwinds, headwinds all day. We had to scrape for every inch, all the way into town.<\/p>\n

Started the day with a great breakfast at the V6, part of the Gage restaurant. Very good.<\/p>\n

Great scenery across the desert and the terrain keeps changing. We wore three layers, face masks, full booties and that north wind was still cutting. All day. Great for duck hunting, not so much for touring with wide panniers. Nonetheless, it was a good ride. The ride had a significant net descent, but we never saw it.
