I post the following with his permission:<\/p>\n<p>There is a whole new breed of bicycle professional out there. They aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t what we usually think of as cyclists, much less traffic engineers or transportation planners. They are most often urban planners and landscape architects, who have become virtual social engineers. They see their job as changing the way dumb old American&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/biggiefromtexas.com\" href=\"http:\/\/biggiefromtexas.com\/2010\/05\/27\/row-row-row-my-boat-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Row, Row, Row My Boat\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 \u00c2\u00ab Biggie From Texas<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby biggie<br \/>\nI have not given up cycling.\u00c2\u00a0 Although I have not been on my bike in awhile, but I do love cycling so I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get back on my bike soon.\u00c2\u00a0 In fact I have to.\u00c2\u00a0 Saturday, June 5th is the Texas 4000 Atlas Ride. The Sense Corp Texas 4000 for Cancer is the world\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s longest annual Charity bike ride! Their mission is to fight cancer by sharing Hope, Knowledge and Charity across North America through a 4,500 mile bicycle ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska.\u00c2\u00a0 NO, I am not riding the 4,500 miles from Austin to Alaska.\u00c2\u00a0 I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll probably just be doing the 25 mile part.\u00c2\u00a0 I think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be a great time for all though and certainly a great cause. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/news\/local\/Dallas-bike-backers-call-for-route-improvements-95080144.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Dallas bike-backers call for route improvements<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby WFAA<br \/>\nMax Bisso from Allen hopes the new plan leads to a cycling network in North Texas \u00e2\u20ac\u201d one that connects riders to work, entertainment venues and parks. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/austinontwowheels.org\" href=\"http:\/\/austinontwowheels.org\/2010\/05\/27\/austin-bike-culture-calendar-events-527-610\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AustinBikeBlog+(Austin+Bike+Blog)\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Austin Bike Culture Calendar Events: 5\/27\/10- 6\/2\/10<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nWith the Memorial Day weekend upon us, the event calendar is a little light with special events.
