It is so much fun to ride your bicycle in the evening when traffic is slowing and the cacophony of engines and horns is lowered.  Exploring a neighborhood or finding a lookout point atop a bridge to admire the spectacular downtown Houston skyline is an opportunity to connect with our city. BikeHouston meet Inge Ford! Tropical Storm Imelda hit Houston with fury on September 19, 2019. I want to call her the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stop TxDOT Flood\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n<p>Our Stop I 45 protest chanted \u00e2\u20ac\u0153TxDOT TxNOT\u00e2\u20ac\u009d until the Marriott Marquis Hotel manager and HPD sergeant had us stop chanting \u00e2\u20ac\u201c but we could still hold our \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stop TxDOT\u00e2\u20ac\u009d signs and remain dry under the hotel awnings near the valet drive-through. We stayed until the luncheon started and the rain got ridiculous. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/bikehouston.org\/2019\/09\/26\/the-build-50-challenge-18-months-later\/\">The Build 50 Challenge \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 18 Months Later<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>bikehouston.org<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bikehouston.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/B50C-logo-dark-3250px.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153BikeHouston makes Houston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s future better by advocating for high comfort bikeways and safer streets.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u201c BikeHouston Board Summer 2019<\/p>\n<p>The Build 50-Challenge opened 42 miles of new high comfort bikeways. It took six months to organize and 12 to build. The Challenge is not over. BikeHouston is still pushing the City to construct the Austin Street two-way bikeway and the neighborhood bikeways connecting Buffalo Bayou to Hermann Park. Austin Street will connect the Northside separated bikeways built along Kelly, Elysian, Hardy, and McKee to the Lamar cycle-track, and Midtown and Third Ward bikeways.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Build 50 Challenge is almost over, BikeHouston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s advocacy work isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourglenrosetx.com\/news\/20190927\/no-title\">EAST AUSTIN Smart Trips Austin hosts<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>www.yourglenrosetx.com<\/h3>\n<p>Eastside farm bike tour<\/p>\n<p>Smart Trips Austin will host a free bike tour to Boggy Creek and Urban Roots farms beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at Createscape Coworking, Suite 12, 701 Tillery St.<\/p>\n<p>The event will begin with a tour of Createscape Coworking, then feature rides to Boggy Creek and Urban Roots Farms for tours and conclude with a ride back to Createscape Coworking.
