EL PASO, Texas – A bicyclist was struck and killed early Wednesday by a speeding SUV that fled the scene in the city’s Lower Valley, police said.<\/p>\n

The deadly hit-and-run happened shortly after 2 a.m. in the 7900 block of Alameda Avenue near the intersection of Fresno Drive.<\/p>\n

Police identified the victim as 59-year-old Hector Leyva. Investigators said he was riding his bicycle when a dark colored SUV struck him from behind.<\/p>\n
