Pit Bull Shot By Police After It Attacked An Elderly Man <\/a><\/h2>\n

ODESSA, TX \u00e2\u20ac\u201cAn Odessa Police Department officer shot and killed a pit bull after it attacked an elderly man on a bicycle on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to CBS7, the victim, an 80-year-old man, told police that he was riding his bicycle when the pit bull attacked and knocked him down. The man protected himself with his bike until the police arrived. He suffered a bite to the hand during the attack.<\/p>\n
When police arrived at the scene the dog began charging at one of the officers, so the officer discharged his weapon resulting in the death of the dog. Police said the same dog had tried to attack another person earlier in the day.<\/p>\n
