He has been riding his bike from Blue Bell to Ambler for decades, donning his &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lubbockonline.com\/news\/20200123\/family-and-friends-gather-for-david-nelson-memorial-highway-sign-unveiling\">Family and friends gather for David Nelson Memorial Highway sign unveiling<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>By Matt Dotray | www.lubbockonline.com<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lubbockonline.com\/storyimage\/TX\/20200123\/NEWS\/200129446\/AR\/0\/AR-200129446.jpg?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Texas Department of Transportation will be renaming FM 41 as the David Nelson Memorial Highway, and many people who knew Nelson gathered at the county courthouse on Thursday to unveil the new sign.<\/p>\n<p>Several people spoke about Nelson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s character and service to the community, before Nelson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s family removed the curtain, showing the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153David Nelson Memorial Highway\u00e2\u20ac\u009d sign.<\/p>\n<p>To those who knew him, Nelson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s longtime friend Mark Griffin said this dedication will help preserve his legacy.
