She remembers playing on Grandma Margie\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stationary bicycle in the den. Shannon and &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigcountryhomepage.com\/news\/abilene-founder-lions-club-to-donate-bikes-to-children-with-disabilities\/\">Abilene Founder Lions Club to donate bikes to children with disabilities<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>by: Jessica Ranck | www.bigcountryhomepage.com<\/h3>\n<p>ABILENE, Texas (KTAB\/KRBC) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Some kids and adults in Abilene are getting a new set of wheels thanks to the Abilene Founder Lions Clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The organization has been awarded a $55,000 grant to help give bikes to children and adults with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>One of the recipients is 10-year-old Crayton Rains, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, suffering a stroke just 45 minutes after he was born.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Developmentally he was behind,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Crayton\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mother, Lacey Rains.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2013, Crayton has been going to West Texas Rehab to help increase movement, but his &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-markdown\"><h2><a href=\"http:\/\/bayoucityoutdoors.com\/clubportal\/EventDetailPublic.cfm?clubID=3&amp;EventID=260125&amp;mo=2&amp;tDate=%7Bd%20%272020%2D02%2D01%27%7D\">Biking at Cullen Park West Houston<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>bayoucityoutdoors.com<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bco.memberize.net\/clubportal\/images\/clubimages\/3\/aniko2014\/11102877_10153225380899233_8953127935465615548_n.jpg?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This ride is for beginner\/intermediate riders. It is easy terrain, but a long ride and we cross a major intersection. This ride is almost eight miles in and back out. The trail is paved, mostly wooded, and has some slight inclines in elevation.<\/p>\n<p>At a pace of 6-10 MPH, the ride will last about an hour. We will enter the trail from the parking lot off Saums, between Barker Cypress and Greenhouse. The trail crosses Barker Cypress and we will continue to Highway 6 where we turn around and bike out. Until we get to Daylight Savings Time, we need to start at 5 pm so we are done by 6 pm. Nowadays, she\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll go on a few rides here and there, sometimes with a group, but often just her. Mostly Dena just rides to stay thin and fit.  She just turned 36 and is aware she\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not getting any younger.  When asked about any hardships she has had on the bicycle, she said none really, but tapped her head. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s up here,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d she said. For her, biking is a way to get out her aggression.
