SAN ANTONIO \u00e2\u20ac\u201c A 10-year-old girl who was riding her bike to school was fatally struck by a vehicle in far West Bexar County, the Bexar County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office said Thursday.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Ranch View East and Rim Rock Valley in the Valley Ranch neighborhood, not far from Culebra Road.<\/p>\n

According to the Bexar County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office, the girl lost control and veered into oncoming traffic when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle. She was not wearing a helmet. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

A Mountain Bike trip at Dana Peak is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. March 12.<\/p>\n

Participants will meet at the Recreation Equipment Checkout Center and depart from there to Dana Peak in Harker Heights. Transportation will be provided, however riders can drive themselves if preferred. Mountain bikes and helmets will also be provided.<\/p>\n

Once at Dana\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Peak instructors will fit riders with the correct size mountain bike and cover the basic fundamentals of riding. Then they will be free to ride around the trails or follow along with one of an instructor.<\/p>\n
