At the finish of today’s bike ride it was 88 degrees. I wonder how the COVID-19 virus reacts to heat. I know how I do, I love it! Harris County and the City of Houston enacted stay home restrictions last midnight while Montgomery County did not. For that reason I chose the “Kingwood – SH 242 – Kingwood” route. After the first 3 miles the route moved into Montgomery County staying there until the last 4 miles where it returns to Harris County and Houston.

One exception to the stay at home requirement allows for outdoor exercise as long as you maintain a safe distance. Maintaining a safe distance while biking solo is not a problem. In the video I show the other cyclists I passed during the ride. I missed two other cyclists when I rode through Kings Manor on the return to Kingwood.

I tried to capture the wildflowers in the video but maybe riding slower would have put them in a better view.

North of Community Drive as I rode on the frontage rode I passed the miles needed to reach my 660 mile goal for March and with the remaining miles from there increased March to 684.04 miles. The breakdown so far: 608.03 road miles and 75.7 Zwift miles. With several days remaining in March I hope to add to that.

Unlike yesterday the wind was light today at 6 mph from the south. Weather during the bike ride: start 84 (71% humidity, 73.3 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind variable 4 mph. Finish 88 (57% humidity, 70.8 dew point), a few clouds, wind S 6 mph. Short sleeve Texbiker.net jersey and shorts today.
