Easter arrived quickly mainly because I have been busy this week. By the time church ended today (I am on the live streaming team) the early morning rain and clouds blew away leaving 89 degrees and sunshine. Starting the ride at 1:22 PM I went over a route in my head staying in Kingwood mostly on the streets. I remembered last Sunday’s ride and added a northern extension into Royal Brook and Country Colony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the ride as I looked at the weather the wind jumped out: W 12 mph gusts 22 mph. I figured hard pedaling whenever the route headed west. The first 9.5 miles was into the headwind and what a relief when I reached that point. From there my direction changed mostly to the east and south easing the effort. That’s when I improved my average speed to 13+ mph. Sometimes on bike rides the wind tappers off but not today. By the 3:11 PM finish it was W 15 mph gusts 25 mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
