That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s exactly what you find when looking at the number of cyclists killed by drivers in the U.S. over the past three decades. From 1990 until 2010, fatalities dropped 27 percent, from 859 to 623 per year. From 2010 to 2018, they &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Statistics can make important issues feel cold and abstract. But for Outside, bike safety is personal. In 2018, longtime Outside writer and passionate cyclist Andrew Tilin was killed when he was hit by a driver of a truck while fixing a flat on his bike outside Austin, Texas. In pursuit of that mission, she and her team have ridden bicycles for thousands of miles across some of the hottest roads in Texas.\nDr. Jeannine Hatt was born in East Texas but grew up in Fort Worth. After graduating high school there, she headed to Sherman to continue her education at Austin College. Hatt, who recently retired from her pediatric practice in Denison, arrived in Sherman with not only a desire to become a &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/balfour-beatty-joint-venture-selected-140600584.html\">Balfour Beatty Joint Venture Selected for Oak Hill Parkway Infrastructure Project in Austin, Texas<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>finance.yahoo.com<\/h3>\n<p>Balfour Beatty has been conditionally selected, in joint venture with Fluor Corporation, to deliver the Oak Hill Parkway infrastructure project on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The design-build project will reconstruct and widen US 290 from approximately the east end of Circle Drive to Loop 1 and SH 71 from US 290 to Silvermine Drive in Travis County, west of downtown Austin. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Additional project components include bicycle and pedestrian accommodations along the entire corridor, cross-street intersection improvements, U-turn lanes, upstream water detention to reduce potential floods, and storm water detention and water quality treatment ponds.
