Due to an afternoon appointment for a haircut I started today’s bike ride a little earlier than usual for a weekday with wheels rolling at 10:40 AM. I chose a slightly shorter route with “Kingwood – FM1485 – Kingwood” riding 31.65 miles<\/strong>. This is about a mile longer than the typical bike ride on this route. So far in 2020 I rode this route 8 times, 5 times on the Canyon Endurace CF SLX and 3 times on the Lynskey R300. Today I rode the Lynskey R300. A summary of those bike rides below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather at the beginning looked iffy with a fine mist off and on until I reached Woodridge Forest. After that some of the roads were damp on the edge but dry where traffic traveled. I washed the Lynskey after the ride because of the grit and mud picked up on the damp to wet shoulders, mostly north of Community Drive. Overall weather during the bike ride: start 77 (90% humidity, 73.8 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind S 8 mph. Finish 86 (64% humidity, 72.4 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind SE 10 mph. Today I wore shorts and a short sleeve jersey, no long sleeve jersey this time, and I felt comfortable. Probably the light wind and higher humidity helped my comfort. By the time I finished at 1:17 PM the threat of rain vanished. I have an opportunity to ride 200+ miles this week if the weather cooperates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
