Another day, another heat advisory for the Houston area. With that in mind I started today’s bike ride at 9:38 AM and finished at 12:34 PM before the hottest part of the day. Riding the Lynskey R300 bike I chose the “Kingwood – SH 242 – Kingwood” route and rode 37.11 miles<\/strong>. This was the 7th time biking this route in 2020 and the first time on the Lynskey R300 (it now has 1,641 miles on it). The other 6 times were on the Canyon Endurace bike. I passed the halfway point of my 800 mile goal for July at 418.08 miles<\/strong>. A summary of the 7 rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CamelBak was full of ice and water for the ride. The weather was warm at the start and downright hot at the end: start 89 (74% humidity, 79.7 dew point), partly cloudy, wind SW 8 mph. Finish 97 (57% humidity, 79 dew point), a few clouds, wind calm. Wind didn’t help much to keep cool as I rode but whenever I rode through shade I felt the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
