But after passing two new propositions, the city now plans to invest more than $7 billion in a new transit system, and another $460 million in new infrastructure centered on walking and biking.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153There were three main arguments that were made,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Austin mayor Steve Adler. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153One was congestion. One was climate change. Racquet sports people have their thwack. Footballers have their punt, kick, and all the hitting, yelling, and grunting. Riding a bicycle involves making a variety of sounds. Here are some that come to mind.<\/p>\n<p>Tires. Motorized vehicles have this, too. But they aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t generating the power on their own, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s competing with the engine and other sounds. Biking brings you close to the road and depending on your tires, they will make a sound as you roll. At higher speeds, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s almost like a singing sound. After 6 days, I headed to Port Arthur, Texas for 2 weeks. Port Arthur is in the southeast corner of Texas. Although it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s near the Gulf Coast, access to the water is limited, as industry occupies much of the land near the coast.
