\nA bicyclist preparing to compete in the Lubbock Senior Games on Friday was killed when she was hit by a pickup near Ransom Canyon just before the event started.<\/p>\n

Michelle Armstrong, 55, of Dallas was riding westbound on an improved shoulder of FM 3523 when she weaved into traffic at about 8:30 a.m., DPS Trooper Brent Collins said.<\/p>\n

A 27-year-old Lubbock woman driving west in a 2004 Ford F-150 swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting her, but still struck the cyclist. …<\/p>\n
