For those who like to ride bikes and love a good challenge, then the Ark-La-Tex Challenge should be right up your alley. Last year’s event had to be canceled like so many charitable events were so they are excited to get this one going. The 9th annual Ark-La-Tex Challenge benefits Texarkana Resources for the Disabled and offers both novice and experienced cyclists a ride unlike many others. … There are two events happening this Saturday that are tailor-made for family fun and safe social distancing. Up first is the 2021 Kiwanis Riverside Ride and KIDZFest.<\/p>\n

The Ride starts at 8 a.m. in DeLeon Plaza and consists of five \u00e2\u20ac\u0153rides\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ranging from 6 miles to 60 miles. Now, I will tell you, I did this once when it was 40 miles, and I literally thought I was going to die. I was an unexperienced rider on a Wal-Mart bike with no actual concept of how long 40 miles on a bicycle was. It was one of those \u00e2\u20ac\u0153my eyes were bigger than my stomach\u00e2\u20ac\u009d scenarios, and I was just thankful I survived. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m being a little dramatic, of course, but it was one of the least informed decisions I have ever made.<\/p>\n
