Friends And Family Remember Killed San Antonio Cyclist As Deeply Caring<\/a><\/h2>\n

Friends of Beatrice Gonzalez dedicated a temporary memorial to her four weeks ago, just a few yards from the spot where she was killed, near Central Catholic High School.<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old loved cycling, often competing in organized events. For 15 years she rode several days a week. Her bicycle was prominently displayed at the home where she lived.<\/p>\n

Now a white-painted bicycle sits prominently where she died. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

When Alexander junior Daniel Musquiz was in sixth grade, he fell in in love with mountain bike racing after watching his uncle Pedro Malacara compete. For the next two years Musquiz worked on his craft, and it was not until he was in eighth grade that he started competing and really enjoyed the sport.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I started to get more immersed in the community and I started seeing other people from my school that would also go out and compete, so I asked \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

Mayor Betsy Price founded Walking, Rolling and Caffeinated Town Halls to break the mold of that traditional, worn-out and sometimes boring town hall meeting with a casual \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and active \u00e2\u20ac\u201d way for residents to connect with this city’s elected leaders.<\/p>\n

For 10 years now, Carry the Load has been on a mission to remember fallen military members and first responders.<\/p>\n
Since 2011, Carry the Load\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has grown into a national movement.<\/p>\n
Founded by U.S. Navy SEALs Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley, Carry the Load includes a national relay that reaches all 50 states, split up into separate sections. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 During that relay, the participants walked and cycle across the 4,600 mile journey, stopping and setting up tents at times to talk and hear people\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stories about loved ones who have also served.<\/p>\n
The end of the relay is scheduled for May 30. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

For National Bike Month, the city of Sugar Land has put together four self-guided tours of the city\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand it is not too late to join.<\/p>\n
Each week, a bike route through a different part of the city is featured, and each route comes with detailed instructions and safety tips.<\/p>\n
National Bike Month was established in 1956 with the goal of showcasing the benefits of bicycling. On the local level, the bike tours are designed to raise awareness about \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n
