Each morning, Doreen Stoller rides her bicycle from Montrose through Midtown on her way to Hermann Park, where she is the conservancy’s executive director. The two-mile ride takes her about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

King Racing Group had hosted weekly races in South Dallas\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Fair Park since 2012 until the pandemic hit last March.\n\"\"\/<\/p>\n

Mack Hazley held the brim of his sunhat as a few dozen cyclists zipped by him, many coasting around 30 mph.<\/p>\n

From the sideline, he pulled out his phone, timing the riders\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 next lap. Hazley isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a racing official.<\/p>\n

He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been riding for about 30 years but decided to sit this race out.<\/p>\n

For almost a decade, Hazley has been one of the many bikers who race at Fair Park every Thursday night in King Racing Group\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s criterium, or crit \u00e2\u20ac\u201d a closed-circuit bike race.<\/p>\n
