The community members, businesses, the City of Paris, and the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce rallied together to see Pump Track Paris become a reality. The hard work is already paying off. MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – The Permian Basin Ride of Silence was postponed due to severe weather, but riders still gathered to honor cyclists killed while riding.<\/p>\n

Three years ago, Jason Haislip was cycling with his two friends – Camron Stotts and Mike Mestas – when a drunk driver hit them.<\/p>\n

Stotts and Mestas died as a result of the collision, and Haislip was severely injured.<\/p>\n

Haislip says he participates in the Ride of Silence because he wants people to be aware of the dangers cyclists face on the road.<\/p>\n
