Seeing 2 ladies compete in one category&#8217;s age group is just a bummer. Since USAC doesn&#8217;t seem to be doing a whole lot to address this I thought I would bring it up with the Dorba folks. Why not eliminate age groups and just have racing based on your category, like road racing. It seems like it would beef up the number of racers per category. If you want to do 3 laps and train hard, race cat 1. If you ride occasionally for fun, race cat 3. Whatchya think? &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/runningmandave.blogspot.com\" href=\"http:\/\/runningmandave.blogspot.com\/2010\/08\/bicycle-ride-with-14000-of-my-closest.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>A Bicycle Ride with 14,000 of My Closest Friends\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nby Dave<br \/>\nThat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s right\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that is a comma after the 14\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and that is what the Hotter N Hell 100 Mile Ride attendance was for last year\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and they are expecting to surpass that this coming weekend.<\/p>\n<p>With so many riders, well, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know what my expectations should be as far as finishing time. The experienced guys say that for the first 20 to 30 miles expect mayhem, wrecks and carnage on the road\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and so for getting a good pace and going strong\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6well that probably won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t happen\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6unless\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6well\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.unless you get up closer to the front\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and hammer out of the start. You know\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 burn a few of the matches in the book to get on down the road and then settle into a pace line. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/solavaca.com\" href=\"http:\/\/solavaca.com\/pqajr\/scdu.php?d=596881\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hargrave&#8217;s Solavaca Mountain Bike Adventure &#8211; A Texas Mountain Bike Trail<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSummer at the Solavaca = OPEN, Hot and Dry<\/p>\n<p>Gate is open before dawn and the trail is open until dusk. The creek crossings are all dry now as we settle into the dry-month pattern until the rains come next in the Fall(?) or Spring(?). Early and late riding is recommended. Be sure and drink lots of water.<\/p>\n<p>The Solavaca is on the schedule for TMBRA Spring XC Championship Series again &#8211; March 19-20, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>This Texas mountain bike trail is located in the limestone hills of the Paluxy River watershed.
